I spent 3 months indoors battling depression after my nude video was leaked – 21years old kannywood Actress Safiya Yusuf

Safiya, popularly known as Safara’u is known for her role in the famous TV series Kwana Casa’in, aired by Arewa24 recalled how she stayed indoors because her nude video leaked in 2020.

In an interview with BBC HAUSA safiya stated that -“That period was the most depressing time of my life because I spent three months without nearing the gate of my house,i was also subjected to cyberattack and almost deactivated my social media accounts ,I was deeply shocked and could not stand on my feet when I saw the video and how it went viral all over the world and  I experienced a lot of challenges, people mocked me and when I summoned the courage to step out my house gate  someone stoned me, all because of that video”
The 21 years old claimed not to have released her nude videos herself and accused her friends and associates who have access to her  phone of releasing the video but can’t specifically say who it is ,she also stated that  70% of ladies nowadays have such videos on their phones which they did for fun and not to go on social media.

Speaking further, the 21 years old kannywood actress expressed her gratitude to her family members who stood by her despite the scandal. Safiya also claimed she was not banned from Kannywood, adding that she only took a break because it was said that the leaked nude video Is the main reason why she lost her role in the TV series aired by Arewa24.
However, safiya was not discouraged from the entertainment industry due to the whole scandal, the actress became very active on her social media and later chose singing,as her new career.

In her song titled “Kwalelenka” safiya claimed to dump Kannywood for singing and described the Hausa filmmaking industry as “Sana’ar Yan Wahala” meaning Kannywood is nothing, but a fruitless labouring ground.
